Of course we do still pray for Pope Emeritus Benedict's intentions and for him and with him and all the church. We miss him already.
We only watched news clips online of the farewell address and the events surrounding. What I loved about the clips was how positive all the people in Rome seemed. The newscasters asked some foreboding questions about what's next for the church, but the young people they interviewed (and George Weigel) all had positive things to say.
Perhaps the key to avoiding a sense of doom in these coming days is to stay in touch with the young people on the street and stay away from journalists

Full of hope and love. Very encouraging.
I know that song! From the end of Lawrence Welk.... Perfect for our Polyglot Emeritus!
Margaret - Growing up, we loved watching the Lawrence Welk at my grandparents' house - I think it must have been in my subconsciousness!
