A Good Quote for Lent

From Magnificat for February 19th: Elizabeth Leseur writes:

I have jotted down in my notebook my Lenten resolutions, but I want to confirm them here. I must truly renew my life, and it is God whom I ask in all simplicity to transform me. I want to live interiorly more spiritually, exteriorly more gently and lovingly so as to make God better loved, who is the beginning and end of my spiritual life. . . .

A resolution worth adopting: to be more spiritual, more gentle, more loving, all with the goal of making God loved more.  Too often I attempt self-improvement plans with the idea of making myself more lovable to God, who knows all my failings anyway, instead of trying to show others how God loves, how God can work through people, how anything that is good comes, not from my efforts, but from Him.
